Overview
LES Books ("we", "us", "our") is a book donation app operated by Lift Education System (Pvt) Ltd. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and mobile app, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, and profile details you provide when you sign in with Google or Firebase Authentication.
- Listing content: book titles, categories, descriptions, and photos you upload when donating or requesting books.
- Location data: an approximate location you provide so nearby listings can be shown to you.
- Messages: conversations you have with other users through in-app chat, used to facilitate handoffs.
- Device information: device model and push-notification token, used to deliver notifications and, before launch, to manage the early access waitlist.
- Usage data: basic technical logs (such as request identifiers and timestamps) used for reliability and security.
How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and onboarding.
- To show relevant book listings near you and connect donors with recipients.
- To deliver in-app and push notifications about your listings, messages, and account.
- To send transactional emails, such as confirmations and early access updates.
- To maintain the security, integrity, and performance of the app.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us run LES Books, including Firebase (authentication, push notifications) and Resend (transactional email), each of whom is bound to use your data solely to provide these services to us.
Your choices
- You can edit your profile and notification preferences at any time within the app.
- You can delete your account, which removes your profile and anonymizes associated content.
- You can contact us at any time to ask what information we hold about you or to request its deletion.
Data retention
We retain account and listing information for as long as your account is active, and for a limited period afterward as needed for security, legal, or operational purposes.
Children's privacy
LES Books is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above whenever we make changes.
